Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, organised an enriching Art of Living workshop for its faculty members, reinforcing the importance of mental well-being, mindfulness, and emotional balance in the lives of educators.
The session was conducted by Mr Vivek Vansal and Dr Meenakshi, who guided the teachers through a series of meaningful practices designed to help them manage stress, improve focus, and cultivate a more positive outlook towards life. The workshop created a calm and reflective environment, allowing participants to pause from their daily routines and reconnect with their inner selves.
The facilitators introduced the faculty to simple yet effective mindfulness practices and guided breathing techniques. These activities encouraged teachers to become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and responses in different situations. The session also included Sudarshan Kriya, a rhythmic breathing practice that aims to promote relaxation, mental clarity, and emotional well-being.
Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, the workshop highlighted how stress can affect both personal and professional life. Participants were encouraged to adopt healthy habits that support a balanced lifestyle, including conscious breathing, regular self-reflection, positive thinking, and taking time to recharge.
The facilitators emphasised that educators often play multiple roles in the lives of students. Beyond teaching academic subjects, they serve as mentors, guides, listeners, and role models. Therefore, caring for their own emotional health is essential for creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment for children.

Teachers actively participated in the session and appreciated the opportunity to learn techniques that could be incorporated into their everyday lives. The workshop helped them understand that wellness is not limited to physical health but also includes mental peace, emotional strength, and the ability to remain composed during challenging moments.
The initiative reflected the school’s commitment to the holistic development of its faculty members. By encouraging teachers to prioritise self-care and mindfulness, the school continues to build a workplace culture rooted in empathy, positivity, and resilience.
The workshop concluded with a renewed sense of calm and motivation among the participants. It served as a valuable reminder that when teachers nurture their well-being, they are better equipped to inspire healthier, happier, and more confident learning communities.
