Exploring the Human Side of Work: Apeejay Stya University hosts International Conference

Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram successfully organised a two-day International Conference on “Workplace Behaviour: Psychological &
Socio-Cultural Perspectives”  in an online mode. The conference was a collaborative initiative of the School of Behavioural Sciences and the School of Management Sciences, aimed at fostering meaningful discussions on emerging workplace challenges.

The conference was conducted under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Vimala Veeraraghavan, Dean Academics & Emeritus Professor, School of Behavioural Sciences, and Dr. Amit Kumar Sinha, Head of the School of Management Sciences. The event was coordinated by Dr. Manju Rani, whose efforts ensured smooth planning and execution. The conference brought together scholars, researchers, industry professionals, and students from diverse backgrounds, creating a vibrant platform for interdisciplinary exchange of ideas.

The inaugural session set the tone for the conference with insightful addresses by the University leadership. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh, highlighted the importance of understanding workplace behaviour in today’s evolving professional landscape. A message from Dr. Neha Berlia, Co-Promoter, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group and
Pro-Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, was formally read by Dr. Sonam Raheja, emphasising the need for research-driven approaches to address workplace challenges. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Registrar, Dr. Pardeep Kumar.

The conference featured keynote and expert sessions by eminent speakers, including Prof. Shanmukh Kamble and Dr. Pawan Bakhshi, who shared their valuable insights on contemporary issues. Engaging panel discussions further enriched the programme, covering critical themes such as workplace stress, the role of artificial intelligence, leadership dynamics, and psychometrics. These sessions encouraged active participation and thoughtful dialogue among attendees.

Day two of the conference focused on research dissemination through invited lectures and parallel technical sessions. The academic rigor of the event was reflected in the presentation of over 150 research papers and 70 posters. Participants explored a wide range of topics, including mental health, emotional intelligence, and organisational behaviour, showcasing innovative ideas and research findings.

The successful execution of the conference was supported by the dedicated efforts of the organising team members, including Mr. Sham Bali, Dr. Smriti Khanna, Dr. Shraddha Agarwal, Ms. Jyoti, Dr. Sonam Raheja, and Dr. Shatakshi Srivastava, whose commitment ensured the smooth conduct of the event.

The conference concluded with a valedictory session, where academic excellence was recognised through awards for Best Paper Presentations in both oral and poster categories. The event not only facilitated knowledge sharing but also strengthened industry-academia collaboration.

Overall, the International Conference proved to be a significant academic endeavour, reinforcing Apeejay Stya University’s commitment to research excellence, innovation, and global engagement while addressing the complexities of workplace behaviour in today’s world.
