Students of Apeejay School, Noida, mark National Panchayati Raj Day with an insightful assembly on local self-governance
An informative and thoughtfully curated morning assembly was presented by Class VII C of Apeejay School, Noida, to mark the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day. The assembly served as a meaningful platform to spread awareness about the significance of local self-governance and its vital role in strengthening the foundations of democracy.
The programme commenced on a serene note with the school prayer, setting a reflective tone for the morning, followed by the thought for the day that resonated with the theme of civic responsibility and collective participation. The news segment kept the audience informed about current happenings, seamlessly connecting global awareness with local relevance.
Adding a creative dimension to the assembly, students presented an English poem that beautifully captured the essence of grassroots democracy and the power of people’s participation. This was followed by a concise yet impactful talk that highlighted the importance of Panchayati Raj institutions in empowering rural communities and promoting decentralised governance in India.
A key ighlight of the assembly was an engaging skit that vividly depicted the functioning of a village panchayat. Through their expressive performances, the students illustrated how decisions are made at the local level, emphasising transparency, cooperation, and accountability. The skit not only entertained but also educated the audience, making complex concepts accessible and relatable.
To reinforce learning, an interactive quiz was conducted, encouraging enthusiastic participation from the audience. The activity added an element of excitement while deepening understanding of the topic in an enjoyable manner.
The school Vice-principal, Ms Puneeta Bhasin, appreciated the sincere efforts of the students and teachers in putting together such a meaningful presentation. In her address, she emphasised the importance of being aware, responsible citizens and encouraged students to actively engage with civic processes.
The assembly concluded on an insightful and enriching note, leaving the audience with a deeper appreciation of grassroots democracy and the pivotal role of Panchayati Raj in shaping an inclusive and participatory society.
