In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape, the role of parents has expanded far beyond traditional support, becoming an integral part of a child’s learning journey. Recognising the importance of a strong school–parent partnership, Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, organised a CBSE workshop on the theme Educating Parents about Education. The workshop aimed to equip educators with meaningful insights and strategies to effectively guide parents and foster a collaborative environment that nurtures holistic student growth.
The enriching and interactive sessions were conducted by eminent resource persons, Ms Deepa Dogra, Director, Cambridge Innovative School, Jalandhar, and Ms Annie Sharma, CBSE Resource Person, Ferozepur. With their vast experience and deep understanding of contemporary education practices, the speakers shared valuable perspectives on the changing dynamics of schooling and parenting in the 21st century. They highlighted the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), emphasising the need to move beyond rote learning towards competency-based education, skill development, and the holistic well-being of learners.
Through engaging discussions, practical examples, and reflective activities, the workshop encouraged teachers to view parents as partners in education rather than mere observers. The resource persons stressed the importance of open communication, empathy, and shared responsibility in helping children achieve academic success, along with emotional and social development. The sessions also explored effective ways to guide parents in understanding assessment reforms, experiential learning, and the development of critical thinking skills among students.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from the teaching fraternity of Apeejay School, Model Town, Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar, and Apeejay School, Tanda Road, creating a platform for collaboration, exchange of ideas, and collective professional growth. The interactive environment enabled educators to reflect on their practices and adopt innovative approaches to strengthen parent engagement.
Appreciating the initiative, Apeejay School, Model Town, Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel reaffirmed the significance of continuous professional learning and collaborative efforts among schools, teachers, and parents to prepare students for future challenges.
The workshop concluded on an optimistic note, reinforcing the belief that when schools and families learn together, children grow stronger—academically, emotionally, and socially. Truly, it was a step towards learning together and growing together.
