‘Embrace collaboration and teamwork,’ says MBA student

Rishabh Agrawal is pursuing his Post Graduate Diploma at Apeejay School of Management (ASM) in Dwarka, Delhi. He specialises in Marketing and is currently interning at Lots Whole Solutions.  In a quick interview, the marketing student speaks about the importance of establishing industry connections as taught in his course and how it will be a means to an end in the coming years. Read edited excerpts:

Is the MBA programme at ASM helping you to reach your aspirations?

Yes, indeed it is.  I strongly feel that ASM has helped me build my personality and gain professionalism. Through this programme, I have been able to acquire skills which I think a manager must have in order to be successful in the industry. 

But you are an engineer, so what made you switch to this field?

I am an engineer by profession and have been handling my family business since the past four years. I now aim to enhance my marketing skills and gain professionalism, which will help me further my business better. Hence, I have opted for this field.

Great! So, how is your marketing internship coming along?

I got an internship in Lots Whole Solution as a market researcher. I really find it very interesting as I visit so many clients. This has been helping me build my network. I am certain that this will benefit me in the coming years and I am really thankful to ASM for helping me get this internship opportunity.

Where do we see you in the next 5 years?

I see myself as an entrepreneur working on women’s beauty and skin care products and services.

Lastly, one life lesson you would like to share?

I would like to share the lesson of embracing collaboration and teamwork from my management college experience. It is an invaluable life lesson. It has shaped not only my approach to work, but also my interactions with others in various aspects of life.
