Organising frequent health checkup camps is paramount for ensuring the well-being of individuals. These camps provide accessible and cost-effective opportunities for people to monitor their health, detect potential issues early, and receive timely medical interventions. Regular health checkups empower individuals to proactively manage their health, fostering a preventive approach to diseases. By offering convenient access to healthcare professionals and diagnostic services, these camps contribute to community health, raising awareness and promoting a culture of proactive health management. Overall, frequent health checkup camps play a pivotal role in preventive healthcare, supporting early detection and intervention for a healthier society.

Thus, realising the importance of organising such camps for the betterment of people, Apeejay Stya University (ASU) in Gurugram in collaboration with Centre for Sight, Gurgaon, and Clove Dental, Gurgaon, recently organised free eye and dental health checkup camps.

The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Vijay Vir Singh, Vice Chancellor at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, and the Sarpanch of the adopted village, Silani, marked a significant step towards community welfare.

The camp drew considerable participation, with over 120 individuals attending the eye check-up camp and 70 engaging in the dental health check-up. Notably, the adopted village residents, ASU staff, and students actively took part in the camp, demonstrating a collective commitment to community well-being.

Sarpanch of Hazipur, representing another village adopted by ASU, also visited the camp, showcasing the widespread impact of such initiatives. The Vice-Chancellor, along with the Sarpanch, set an example by personally participating in the health check-ups.

The eye check-up camp received an overwhelming response, with all testing kits being exhausted due to the high turnout. The visiting team, including professionals from the Centre for Sight Gurgaon, commended the positive response and expressed gratitude to ASU and its authorities for providing them with the opportunity to conduct the free eye checkup camp.

The dental health check-up, conducted in collaboration with Clove Dental Gurgaon, also witnessed active participation. The camp not only focused on diagnosis but also provided valuable health education and awareness regarding dental care.

As a gesture of goodwill, the visiting team distributed free testing coupons to individuals whose eyes could not be examined due to the exhaustive nature of the eye check-up camp.

The success of the free eye and dental health check-up camp underscores ASU’s commitment to community engagement and well-being. Such initiatives not only provide essential health services to the community but also foster a sense of responsibility and awareness among the students and staff. The University remains dedicated to organising more such health camps for the holistic development of the adopted villages and the larger community.
