Demonstrating a strong commitment towards environmental sustainability, the Youth Club-Celebrate Ecology and Enhance Greenery of Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, successfully organised an E-waste Collection Drive within the school premises. The initiative was undertaken with the objective of spreading awareness about the growing issue of electronic waste and encouraging responsible disposal practices among students and parents.

In today’s rapidly advancing digital world, electronic gadgets have become an integral part of daily life. However, the improper disposal of outdated and unused electronic devices poses a serious threat to the environment. Keeping this concern in mind, the school’s Youth Club launched the drive to inspire students to adopt eco-friendly habits and contribute actively towards environmental conservation.

The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and parents, who came forward in large numbers to deposit discarded electronic items such as old mobile phones, chargers, batteries, earphones, wires, and unused cables. Collection boxes were placed at designated points within the campus, making it convenient for participants to contribute to the initiative.

The event not only encouraged responsible recycling practices but also helped students understand the harmful impact of e-waste on soil, water, and air if not disposed of properly. Through this hands-on activity, students learned the importance of reducing electronic waste and the role each individual can play in protecting the environment.

The overwhelming response received during the drive reflected the school community’s awareness, social responsibility, and dedication towards building a cleaner and greener future. The initiative also served as a reminder that small collective efforts can lead to meaningful environmental change.

The school Principal, Mr AK Sharma, and Vice-principal Ms Loveleen Bagga appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers involved in organising the drive. They commended the participants for taking a proactive step towards sustainable living and encouraged them to continue contributing towards environmental protection through similar initiatives in the future.

The E-waste Collection Drive stood as a successful example of how educational institutions can inspire young minds to become responsible and environmentally conscious citizens.
