Dive into tech empowerment by unravelling opportunities and challenges

It was a day dedicated to having an insight into the world of economies and economic growth, fostering innovation, and creating a resilient business environment. Further to which the role of MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) in the same was discussed at a conference organised recently.

PGDM-I- year students of Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka, led by Professor Anuj Kumar attended the MAIT’s Conference on “Leveraging Tech to Empower Small Enterprises” held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, on January 17, 2024. The delegation was also accompanied by Deputy Director, ASM, Dr. Etinder Pal Singh.

The conference commenced with addresses from esteemed personalities, including Col Suhail Zaidi, Retired DG of MAIT, and Shri Rajkumar Rishi, President of MAIT. The event delved into the critical role of technology in empowering small enterprises, offering insights into overall handholding and support mechanisms. The chief guest, Ms. Mercy Epao, JS,  Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises along with Shri Sanket Bhondve, JS, MeitY added valuable perspective to the discussions.

The students, eager participants in the conference, gained profound insights into the challenges and opportunities for MSMEs. They explored the transformative role of emerging technologies in enhancing the capabilities of small enterprises. The event served as a platform for understanding how technology can be a catalyst for the growth and sustainability of MSMEs in the contemporary business landscape.

The academic delegation’s attendance at the MAIT’s conference facilitated a deeper understanding of the intersection between technology and small enterprises. The exposure to real-world insights, shared by industry experts and thought leaders, proved to be invaluable for the students’ academic and professional growth. ASM’s E-Cell played a pivotal role in organising and facilitating the participation of Professor Kumar, Dr Etinder Pal Singh, and the enthusiastic PGDM-I-year students in this enriching conference. Such collaborative efforts highlight the institution’s dedication to exposing students to diverse learning opportunities and keeping them abreast of industry trends.

Speaking about the experience Professor Kumar shared, “It was wonderful to attend such an event. Such conferences provide necessary impetus to students to think in an innovative manner. It was an enriching experience for students and they also participated in the open quiz during the conference and answered the questions. They have enjoyed it fully.” Attending the MAIT’s Conference on leveraging technology for empowering small enterprises was a significant milestone for the academic community at ASM, Dwarka. The experience broadened horizons, fostering a deeper appreciation for the role of technology in shaping the future of MSMEs. The knowledge gained during the conference is expected to contribute positively to the academic and professional journeys of both faculty and students at ASM.
