Dharmendra Pradhan calls for greater integration of local languages in professional education

As per the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan called for enhanced integration of local languages in professional education. “Reviewed the report of the task force on imparting professional education in local languages. Going forward, we look towards greater integration of local languages in professional education in line with the NEP 2020,” Pradhan tweeted. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021, conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes, was conducted in 13 languages which include Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, Urdu, Odia, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Assamese and Gujarati languages, besides English and Hindi. The medical entrance, NEET 2021, was held in 11 regional languages- Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
