Government schools in Delhi may cut short summer vacations this year

Schools in Delhi are scheduled to start summer vacations for students from May till June 2022. But according to recent reports, for classes 3 to 12, the summer vacations will be of only 15 days, i.e. June 15 to 30 in government schools. Only students from nursery to class 2 will be getting a month-long summer vacation this year.

The reason behind this decision is ‘Mission Buniyaad’. The last two years of Covid-19 have been a huge loss for the education sector leading to a learning gap amongst the students. To bridge the same, additional classes for about 35 days are being organised in government schools. Further in view of the board examinations for classes 10th to 12th, classes for advance preparation may be held during summer vacations.

Private schools may implement the same in the coming days to compensate for the learning loss of students.
