‘Death- An Unwanted Phenomenon’: Poem by Girisha Kapoor, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park

Listen to the poem here:

Death, an uninvited guest we meet,
Unwanted by heart,
Taking away the loved ones,
Sending to the skies above.
At the end, it is the moment
Where our tears fall, hearts ache.
Memories and those cherished moments stay.
In our love, they never leave,
But physically they do.
Exits have to be there.
But still there is hope
That they will come back.
Those eyes which went will always be watching us,
Those people will be kept in a special place by us.
Those tears may fall,
But memories stand like a wall.
In every heart, their presence lives,
In every good work, their blessing takes place.
Prayers go on,
Wanting the people to come back.
But – but – but,
It’s natural after all.
Entries and exits are forever a part of life.
For every end, there’s a story.
In soft whispers, in the hands we held,
Death may part us, but love won’t.
