To welcome the new joiners, senior students of School of Engineering and Technology, Apeejay Stya University recently organised Cyber Punk, a welcome event for B. Tech CSE 2022 batch. The event was emceed by a team of 2nd year students including Gautam Mathur, Amit Kumar Jha and Akriti Pratap Singh.
CyberPunk began with an introductory session to break the ice between the students of different departments. This was followed by a captivating dance performance by Dazzlers, the enthralling dance troupe including ASU students Akriti Pratap Singh, Vaishali Tanwar, Himanshi Tanwar, and Hariom Dagar.
Engineering students Deepanshi and Tanisha also left the audience in a trance with their amazing solo dance performances. A fantastic dance performance was showcased by Muskan followed by Amit and Vaishali singing beautiful songs that captivated the audience.
In the spirit of sharing fun relationships between seniors and juniors, many games and interactive activities were organised like guess the song and tasks, wherein the first year students participated with full enthusiasm. The impeccable coordination and light-hearted interactions of the host with the audience kept attendees engaged in the games. Participants also took up the toughest activity challenges and won lucrative prizes.
Further, faculty members awarded titles to the new joiners, where Om and Deepanshi secured Mr. and Ms. Fresher titles, respectively. Other title holders included Tanisha who was recognised with the title of Cute Face, Vaishali & Muskan as Best Performers, Amit Jha – Best Personality (Male), Akriti Pratap Singh – Best Personality (Female), Vishal Rajput – Best Dressed (Male) and Himanshi Tanwar – Best Dressed (Female).
On the special occasion, Tanisha Yadav, 1st year, B Tech student said, “The memories of a gracious welcome shall never depart from our minds. Thank you so much for such a great welcome with so much affection.”
Another first-year student Muskan said, “I liked the get-together very much. The experience was much better than my expectations. The best part of this opportunity was to know our seniors and other departments.”
Himanshu, 2nd year, B Tech student said, “We were all very excited to organise a welcome event for our new members. And we did it well. I personally enjoyed it a lot because we performed and played a lot of games with our juniors. The best part was when Garima mam announced the Mr. Freshers, Miss Freshers and other winners like best performer, best costume and best personality, and everyone started dancing and hooting for them. At the end, I was happy that everything went well and we look forward to more such events.”
The CyberPunk event concluded with food and snacks and flavours of cake.
