Cyber safety is essential to protect personal information, prevent online threats, and empower individuals to navigate the digital world responsibly and securely. Keeping this in mind, a comprehensive Cyber Safety and Security Awareness Session was successfully conducted at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri for students of Classes V to VIII and Class XII. The informative session was led by Mr Sandeep Kumar, with the aim of equipping students with essential knowledge and practical strategies to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.
In today’s technology-driven era, where online platforms have become integral to education, communication, and social interaction, the need for cyber awareness is more crucial than ever. Recognising this, the session focused on fostering digital responsibility and promoting safe internet practices among students. It emphasised the importance of safeguarding personal information and maintaining vigilance while engaging in online activities.
Mr Kumar provided valuable insights into critical aspects of cyber safety, including the creation of strong and secure passwords, identification of phishing attempts, safe use of social media, and the risks associated with sharing personal data. He also addressed issues such as cyberbullying and highlighted the long-term impact of one’s digital footprint. Through real-life examples and relatable scenarios, students gained a deeper understanding of potential cyber threats and learned effective ways to respond to them.

The session was highly interactive and engaging, encouraging students to actively participate through questions, discussions, quizzes, and situational challenges. This dynamic approach not only enhanced their awareness but also promoted critical thinking and responsible online behaviour. Special emphasis was laid on recognising suspicious links, avoiding unknown downloads, and promptly reporting cyber incidents to trusted adults or relevant authorities. Students were further guided on the ethical use of technology and the importance of respecting others in the digital space.
The school Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, appreciated the initiative and underscored the significance of such awareness programmes in shaping responsible and informed digital citizens. “I commend Mr Kumar for conducting an insightful and engaging session on cyber safety and security for our students. In an age where digital exposure is inevitable, such initiatives play a crucial role in empowering young minds with awareness and responsibility. The interactive approach adopted in the session ensured active participation and meaningful learning. At Apeejay School, we remain dedicated to fostering safe, informed, and responsible digital citizens for the future.”
The session concluded with a quick recap and a set of practical safety tips that students can incorporate into their daily digital interactions. Overall, the programme proved to be informative, impactful, and well-received by all participants.
