The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a revision to the examination date for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2024. Originally scheduled for December 1, the exam will now take place on December 14, 2024. This change was made to avoid conflicts with other competitive exams occurring on December 15, which is a Sunday.
A notification issued on September 20 indicated that if the number of candidates exceeds capacity in certain cities, the exam might also be conducted on December 15. This adjustment reflects the board’s commitment to accommodating the interests of candidates and ensuring a smooth examination process.
The decision to move the exam date earlier comes in response to feedback from candidates regarding scheduling conflicts. The official notice emphasised that the change aims to facilitate better participation in the CTET, which is crucial for aspiring teachers across the country.
To qualify for the CTET 2024 December session, candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria: They must be Indian citizens, at least 18 years old, and possess a minimum of 50% marks in their senior secondary exam or graduation, depending on the subject they wish to apply for.
The online application process commenced on September 17 and will remain open until October 16, 2024, at 11:59 pm. Aspiring candidates are encouraged to complete their applications within this timeframe to ensure their eligibility for the upcoming examination. The CTET is a pivotal assessment for those seeking teaching positions in schools, underscoring the importance of being well-prepared for this opportunity.
