Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco-friendly way

Apeejay School Nerul organises a line of activities to welcome Lord Ganesha

Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of the elephant-headed Hindu god, Lord Ganesha. It is an auspicious Hindu festival which is celebrated for 10 days across the country with great pomp and fervour. Lord Ganesha is known as the God of new beginnings, prosperity, wisdom, knowledge, and wisdom. 

Immersing oneself in Ganesh Chaturthi celebration, a series of activities was organised at Apeejay School Nerul. The auspicious ceremony began with a special assembly. The celebration was graced by Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Regional Director – Academics at Apeejay Education and Acting Principal of Apeejay Nerul.

The assembly started with a speech on the importance of celebrating this festival, followed by  everyone welcoming the statue of Lord Ganesha while students recited ‘Ganapati Bappa Maurya’, chanted ‘shloka’ as well as performed arti

The tiny tots dressed up as Lord Shiv, Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya performed a show on the famous story of Lord Ganesha. This was followed by mesmerising dance and song performances. 

At the same time, the interactors of classes 6 and 7 created unique collages of Lord Ganesha using tiny pieces of newspapers and magazines. Whereas the interactors of classes 8 and 9 participated in an eco-friendly Ganesha making tutorial. The objective of this activity was to make eco-friendly Ganesh idols at home, using readily available materials and celebrate this festival in an environment-friendly way.
