The students of Classes II (sections C and D) of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, brought the school auditorium alive with colour, devotion, and joy as they presented a heart-warming celebration titled बंधन और भक्ति –A Celebration of Bonds & Blessings. The dual celebration beautifully intertwined the essence of Raksha Bandhan and the spiritual fervour of Janmashtami, leaving the audience touched and inspired.
The segment opened with a soulful song that resonated with the deep emotions of sibling love. This was followed by a graceful dance performance, where the young dancers portrayed the warmth and purity of the festival through their expressive moves. The highlight of this segment was the thought-provoking skit Rakhi Across the Border. In this moving enactment, the students portrayed how the bond of love can transcend geographical boundaries, uniting hearts even in times of separation. The performance served as a gentle reminder that love and kindness know no borders.

Transitioning seamlessly into the Janmashtami celebrations, the atmosphere took on a devotional charm. The children presented melodious bhajans dedicated to Lord Krishna, filling the space with divine energy. This was complemented by an energetic dance performance that depicted scenes from Krishna’s playful childhood, bringing smiles to every face. The dramatisation of Krishna’s bond with Yashoda Maa was tender and touching, capturing the mother’s unconditional love. Another memorable scene showcased the enduring friendship between Krishna and Sudama, highlighting the values of humility, generosity, and gratitude.
Parents and guests were visibly moved by the vibrant and well-coordinated presentation. The bright costumes, expressive performances, and thematic décor reflected meticulous preparation and the students’ wholehearted participation. The applause that followed each segment was a testament to the appreciation and joy felt by all present.

More than just a festive celebration, the assemblies served as a platform for students to internalise and express the values these festivals embody — love, friendship, unity, and harmony. Through music, drama, and dance, the young performers conveyed that festivals are not just traditions to be observed, but emotions to be shared and lived.
In combining the spirit of बंधन (bond) with the devotion of भक्ति (faith), the students of Classes II (sections C and D) succeeded in creating an unforgettable experience — one that celebrated relationships, honoured traditions, and reminded everyone of the timeless values that bring people together.
