Lorraine Paulson Lazarus, the topper from Apeejay School, Kharghar has showcased her grit, dedication and hard work by securing an outstanding 96.4% in the CBSE Class XII Board Results. Known for her focused preparation and calm approach during exams, she excelled particularly in Business Studies and Informatics Practices. With aspirations to pursue BAF along with CMA US, Lorraine aims to build a successful career in finance and accounting. Read her interview:

How did you feel when you got to know about your results? You scored so high , how did your teachers and parents feel ?

When I saw my result, I honestly felt very happy and relieved because all the hard work finally paid off. Scoring 96.4% was something I had hoped for, but seeing it actually happen felt surreal. My parents were extremely proud and overjoyed, and my teachers were also very happy because they had supported and guided me throughout the year. Their appreciation made the achievement even more special for me.

Which subjects did you score high marks on?

I scored the highest in Informatic Practices (99) and Business Studies (98). I enjoyed studying these subjects, which made it easier to stay consistent and perform well in exams.

How did your school support you in your preparation?

My teachers were always approachable and cleared doubts whenever needed. We had regular tests, revision lectures, and practice papers, which helped me understand the exam pattern and improve my time management. The constant encouragement from my teachers also motivated me to stay focused.

What was your preparation strategy?

I am definitely not someone who can maintain a perfect, strict study routine for months on end. For me, the real discipline started closer to exam season. I realised that pulling marathon study sessions wouldn’t work, so I focused on being efficient. I spent my time understanding the core concepts, keeping my revisions sharp, and practicing with real test papers to make the most of my days.

How did you manage your stress ?

Whenever I felt stressed, I would take small breaks and do things I enjoy, like listening to music, sketching, or watching stand-up comedy. It helped me relax and clear my mind. Talking to my family and friends also helped me stay positive during exams

How did you handle the pressure during exams?

Exams are always overwhelming so I tried to stay calm by focusing on one subject at a time and avoiding overthinking. I reminded myself to stay confident and give my best.

What is your future plan?

My future plan is to pursue a BAF degree for my undergraduate studies and do CMA US alongside it. I am interested in the finance and accounting field, and I want to build a strong career in that area in the future.
