CBSE class 12 Business Studies paper analysis: It was well-balanced; questions were from NCERT textbooks

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on March 25, 2023, conducted the Business Studies Board exam for class XII. The question paper was for 80 marks. Students were required to complete the paper in three hours – from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Many several would have heaved a sigh of relief since for students of Commerce only one exam is left – Accountancy – to be held on March 31.

The format of the question paper:

In all, there were 34 questions.

There were 20 Multiple Choice Questions type questions of 1 mark each.

4 short answer questions type questions of 3 marks.

6 short answer questions type questions of 4 marks each.

4 long answer questions type questions of 6 marks each.

According to Anu Khanna, PGT Commerce at Apeejay School, Faridabad in Sector 15 said that it was a well-balanced question paper. “There were good variations in the set as far as direct questions were concerned. However, the MCQs and long case studies were more or less the same in all the three sets,” Khanna opined.

The CBSE has set up 7,250 exam centres across the nation and 26 countries abroad. The total number of registered candidates for class XII is 16.9 lakh candidates. Out of these, 7.4 lakh are girl students, 9.51 are boys. The class XII exams will be conducted for 36 days and will be over on April 5, 2023. The CBSE conducted exams in 115 subjects for class XII.

The results are slated to be released in May 2023 on CBSE’s official website.
