The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) concluded its class 10 Board exams on March 13. As per previous trends, the results for these examinations are anticipated to be released in May, and students can expect to find them on the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in.

Reflecting on the previous year’s schedule, the class X exams spanned from February 14 to March 21, with the results being officially declared on May 12. Notably, the 2022 exam cycle for CBSE class X was divided into two terms. Term 1 took place in November-December, while Term 2 occurred in May-June. The final result amalgamating the scores from both terms was disclosed on July 22, 2022.

In addition to India, CBSE class X exams were administered in 26 countries, reflecting its widespread reach and influence. The previous year saw a substantial number of candidates, with 21,84,117 students registering for the exam. Of these, 21,65,805 appeared for the exams, and a commendable 20,16,779 students successfully passed, marking a pass percentage of 93.12%. Though this percentage represented a slight decline from the previous year, it remained impressive.

In response to logistical considerations, CBSE has extended the deadline for schools to conduct class X practical exams until March 31. Schools are also granted the same deadline to upload the marks for practical exams, project works, and internal assessments for the ongoing academic session of 2023-24.

Moreover, CBSE is exploring the potential implementation of Open Book Exams (OBE) for students in classes IX to XII. This initiative proposes a pilot run of open-book tests in select schools, focusing on subjects such as English, mathematics, and science for classes IX and X, and English, mathematics, and biology for classes XI and XII. The objective behind this pilot is to evaluate student response and the time taken to complete such assessments.

In essence, as students await the announcement of their class X Board exam results, CBSE continues to adapt and innovate, ensuring the efficiency and fairness of its examination processes.
