Budding IT professionals learn new ways to combat cybercrime

At a workshop in ACFA, the expert explains about cyber security and its various phases.

The Department of Computer Science of Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar recently organised a guest lecture on ‘Cyber Security’ for the students of Information Technology.

Ms. Prishita Dhingra, Security and Risk Compliance Auditor at Bobble, Gurgaon, guided students about the ways to keep their data safe in this digital era.

The guest speaker explained the kinds of online crimes such as swishing, phishing, etc., and highlighted the ways to stay alert and not share the OTPs or passwords with anyone. She also gave detailed information about cyber security and its various phases.

Further, she motivated students to get in- depth and practical knowledge about the subject while adding the job opportunities available in this field.

Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal at ACFA, congratulated the guest for expressing her views on the significance of the topic and said, “In these contemporary times, it is necessary for the students to be aware about cybercrime.”

She added, “Technology is developing rapidly and it has become a part of one’s daily lives.Due to this technological advancement people are coming in the grip of cybercrime. So, it is important to learn about the ways to avoid becoming the victim of the cybercrime and save personal details and important confidential information.”

In the end, Dr. Dhingra appreciated the efforts of all the faculty members of the Department of Computer Science for successfully organising the guest lecture. She also encouraged them to continue conducting such informative guest lectures in future.
