Basics of starting a business: An exciting workshop on how to begin a startup

Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar recently organised an engaging expert lecture on the topic “Startup: How to begin,” as part of their “Alumni Connect Series.” The event, held on the campus premises in Rama Mandi, Jalandhar, was jointly organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and the Innovation and Incubation Cell (IIC) of AIMETC. The lecture aimed to provide valuable insights and guidance to students pursuing
B Tech, MCA, MBA, BCA, BBA, and BCom (H) courses.

The session witnessed active participation from students and faculty members, reflecting their strong interest and support for entrepreneurship at AIMETC.

The keynote speaker for this session was Shriya Maini, an esteemed Apeejay alumna and successful entrepreneur. Shriya shared her inspiring journey and personal experiences of starting her own business, ‘Immuno Eats.’ Her captivating storytelling and practical insights into the various aspects of starting and organising a business engaged the audience.

The womenpreneur covered key topics such as identifying and refining business ideas, market analysis, effective organisational strategies, and funding avenues. Her comprehensive discussion provided students with a solid understanding of the entrepreneurial process, from ideation to carving a niche in the market and securing appropriate funding.

The session fostered an interactive atmosphere, with students showing great enthusiasm and actively participating by asking thought-provoking questions. They sought guidance on specific aspects of starting a business, and Shriya patiently addressed each query, providing practical solutions. Her expertise and relatable examples left the audience thoroughly satisfied.

The expert lecture served as a valuable platform for students to gain insights from a successful entrepreneur and Apeejay Alumni. The event not only rekindled the spirit of entrepreneurship among the participants, but also motivated them to pursue their business dreams with confidence.

Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC, expressed his appreciation for Shriya Maini’s articulate delivery of her entrepreneurial journey during the lecture. He emphasised, “It’s important tofollow one’s passion and transform ideas into reality to become a successful entrepreneur.”

The efforts of EDC and IIC’s in organising this event provided students with valuable opportunities to learn from industry expert and alumni, further nurturing their entrepreneurial aspirations.
