Every year January 16 is celebrated as National Startup Day that aims to recognise and celebrate the extraordinary growth and contributions of the startup community to the Indian economy. Thus, marking the importance of this day, Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) in Jalandhar organised a vibrant event showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit and innovation.
The highlight of the day was the Innopitch: Start-up Pitch Challenge, a competition that provided a platform for students to present their ground-breaking ideas.
The event witnessed an electrifying atmosphere as enthusiastic students from diverse disciplines including B Com (H), BBA, MBA, MCA, BCA, B Tech (CSE) came together to participate in Innopitch. This initiative aimed at fostering creativity, encouraging entrepreneurial thinking, and nurturing the next generation of business leaders.
It was an intense competition where aspiring entrepreneurs got the opportunity to present their innovative ideas to a panel of esteemed judges. The participants were required to deliver compelling presentations, demonstrating their entrepreneurial prowess and the potential impact of their ideas on various industries.

Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, “Startup Day and Innopitch have been instrumental in promoting an entrepreneurial mindset among our students. The caliber of ideas presented during the competition reflects the dedication and innovative spirit of our students. We believe in nurturing their creativity and providing them with a platform to turn their ideas into reality.”
The team of Jasmilan and Neha of BCA bagged the first position for their business idea “Novel Navigator”, which would enable users to donate their books online. The second position was bagged by the teams of Anchal Sharma and Jaanvi, and Dollcy Sharma of MBA.
All in all, the day featured unique ideas that have the potential to bring promising change.
