Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad, celebrates National Handloom Day 

Recently, Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad, Sector 21 D, celebrated National Handloom Day with an engaging and creative activity. It was aimed at introducing young learners to India’s rich handloom heritage. The celebration provided students with an opportunity to explore the traditional art of weaving while developing creativity, patience, and an appreciation for India’s cultural legacy.

The session began with an informative and engaging video that introduced the children to the world of handlooms. Through the visual presentation, students learned about the significance of the handloom, the traditional weaving process, and how beautiful fabrics are created using skill, precision, and craftsmanship. The activity helped them understand that every handwoven fabric reflects the dedication and creativity of artisans who preserve this traditional craft.

Following the video session, the children participated in a hands-on weaving activity designed especially for them. Using colourful wool, ribbons, and paper cuttings, they experimented with simple weaving techniques and created their own vibrant patterns. The activity allowed students to observe how different materials could be interwoven to form attractive designs while encouraging them to explore their creativity freely.

The young participants enthusiastically engaged in the activity, carefully arranging and weaving the materials to create unique patterns. The process also helped them develop concentration, fine motor skills, and patience as they worked through each step.
