To mark the World Tourism Day, students at Apeejay Svran Global School had a fun and vibrant way to celebrate the day. Young learners had a discovery-filled celebration designed to introduce the joys of travel, diverse cultures, and global heritage.
The celebration saw children immersed in a range of engaging activities aimed at sparking curiosity about the world around them. Students watched videos and presentations showcasing famous monuments, iconic destinations, and cultures from across the globe, giving them a visual and interactive introduction to places beyond their immediate surroundings.
Adding a hands-on dimension to the learning, children explored models of some of India’s most iconic landmarks, including the Taj Mahal, Red Fort, and Qutub Minar. The activity allowed young learners to study architectural details up close. This activity helped them develop an early appreciation for India’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
To deepen their understanding of tourism itself, students took part in a fun, activity-based session that introduced them to the concepts of tourism and the role of tourists. The interactive format helped simplify what could otherwise be an abstract topic, making it relatable and enjoyable for young minds.

The celebration also included creative craft activities, with students designing their own colourful luggage bags, imagining the adventures their miniature suitcases might go on. In a particularly inventive touch, children created personalised passports complete with their own details and country stamps, giving them a playful, hands-on understanding of travel documentation and global identity.
Teachers noted that activities like these help children connect classroom learning with real-world concepts, nurturing curiosity, creativity, and an early sense of global awareness. By blending visual learning, hands-on crafts, and imaginative play, the celebration ensured that students engaged with the theme of tourism in a meaningful and memorable way.
School authorities highlighted that commemorating days like World Tourism Day forms an important part of the school’s effort to build well-rounded learners who appreciate diversity and develop curiosity about the world beyond their own communities. “Such celebrations open young minds to the beauty of different cultures and places, encouraging them to dream, explore, and respect diversity from an early age,” a school representative said.

The celebration concluded with children proudly showcasing their handmade passports and luggage bags, excited about their imaginary journeys to new lands.
Through this thoughtfully curated World Tourism Day celebration, Apeejay Svran Global School reaffirmed its commitment to experiential learning, helping young explorers discover the world one activity at a time.
