The Rotaract Club of Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, celebrated the festive spirit of Navratri by organising a vibrant Dandiya Night on the auspicious occasion of Navmi. The campus came alive with colours, devotion, and rhythmic beats, creating an atmosphere filled with energy, unity, and joy.

The evening began with a ceremonial inauguration led by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh, who lit the traditional lamp, marking the start of the celebrations. He was joined by Registrar Dr. Pardeep Kumar, Dean, Student Welfare Prof. Sanjay Ahirwal, Prof. Anupama Diwan, and Prof. Ananda Padhan. The ceremony symbolised the triumph of light over darkness and set the tone for an evening steeped in culture and reverence.

Following the inauguration, the University fraternity gathered to perform the Aarti of Goddess Durga, invoking her blessings and paying homage to the divine feminine power. The devotional atmosphere was both uplifting and unifying, as faculty, students, and staff participated with great enthusiasm, reflecting the essence of Navratri — devotion, joy, and togetherness.

After the rituals, the Dandiya Raas began, transforming the campus into a dazzling dance floor. The rhythmic beats of traditional Garba and Dandiya music filled the air as participants twirled to the melodies in colourful ethnic attire. The night was a visual treat, showcasing the cultural richness of India and the strong sense of community that defines Apeejay Stya University.

Dr. Vijay Kumar, Coordinator of the Rotaract Club, extended heartfelt thanks to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, faculty members, and the entire university community for their presence and blessings. He highlighted that such events play an important role in nurturing holistic development and strengthening bonds within the campus family.

The event’s success was a result of meticulous planning and teamwork by the Rotaract Club, led by President Srishti Vashistha, Vice President Phillip J. Dolo, Secretary Nahida Parveen, and Treasurer Kanchan. The celebration was flawlessly executed under the guidance of Event Chair Parnika and Event Coordinator Ayush Bhatt, whose efforts ensured every detail was thoughtfully managed. The evening’s proceedings were anchored with charm and enthusiasm by Som Sarth from the School of Biosciences and Muskan Chaudhary from the School of Education.

The Dandiya Night concluded on a high note, leaving behind cherished memories of joy, devotion, and togetherness. The event not only celebrated India’s cultural heritage but also embodied the Apeejay spirit — where learning, leadership, and celebration go hand in hand.
