Encouraging students to think outside the box, Apeejay Stya University’s School of Engineering and Technology (SoET) recently held a knowledge building activity “Guess-O-Pedia” at the campus seminar hall. The idea behind organising such activity was to inspire students to expand their horizons and learn about things happening around them.

The knowledge-building exercise was organised by Proxima, the Technical Society at ASU, under the supervision of faculty coordinator, Dr. Deepti Thakral, and student coordinators, Bhargavi Guddati and Krishnan Kumar of SoET.

The event began with the lighting of the lamp by Professor R.S. Dhankar, Vice Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University and  Professor  Vimala Veeraraghavan, Dean Academics.

The knowledge-building session included a guessing game comprising three rounds.  Participants were given a puzzle in the form of images which they had to decode to guess the right answer. A total of 12 teams including four participants each from different departments participated in this competition.

Sharing his experience, Dhairya Goel, a third year student from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences said, “In the first round, we had to guess famous personalities with their silhouettes. The second round was about guessing country names and in the final round we had to identify brand names through logos. The faster we guessed, the more points we scored. It was an amazing knowledge building activity. We achieved the first position.”

Himanshu Dubey, from team Meraki that grabbed the second position said, “We performed really well in the final round. All the participants were really enthusiastic. This kind of activity helps in building confidence and knowledge on so many other things beyond routine academic stuff.”  The third position was bagged by team CrewX.

The competition ended with a prize distribution ceremony. All the participants were awarded with certification of participation. In the end, Dr. Deepti Thakral extended the Vote of Thanks.
