Apeejay Schools in Delhi remember the Founder with pride!

Institutes celebrated Founder’s Day with enthusiasm and took valuable lessons from Founder-Chairman Dr Stya Paul’s visionary life

Apeejay Schools in Delhi recently celebrated Founder’s Day with panache. It was an auspicious occasion for all the schools to honour the man whose vision led to the creation of the Apeejay Education and Apeejay Stya Group including 26 institutions.  

At Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, the spirit of the day for all students was reverence as they paid homage to the indomitable spirit of their beloved Founder-Chairman Dr Stya Paul. The celebrations were marked with a line of activities. Following a floral tribute to the Founder-Chairman, Mr. Sandeep Singh Kathuria, Principal, and Ms. Shalini Agarwal, Vice Principal spoke about the remarkable life journey of Dr Stya Paul, who reached the pinnacle of success despite coming from humble beginnings. 

Mr. Kathuria also read out the message from Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Education for all students. 

He read, “Dr Paul had the valuable qualities of hard work, fearlessness and love for truth and these stood him in good stead as he pioneered the Apeejay Stya Group into an industrial conglomerate, and the Apeejay Education Society (which is a Social Commitment of the Group) into one of the most respected and successful educational organisations of India. Under him, 26 Apeejay institutions- schools, colleges and higher institutes – have come up and flowered to become symbols of excellence in their various disciplines, moulding the life and careers of all future generations” 

“Year 2010 also saw the realisation of Dr Paul’s dream of setting up the Apeejay Stya University – a world-class university that would not only be a seat of global learning, but also one that brings about transformation of society through value-based, man-making and nation-building education.”

Following this, students and teachers presented some of Dr Paul’s favourite bhajans. Students sought inspiration from Dr Paul’s indomitable spirit through several scintillating cultural performances and a gripping skit depicting the life and challenges of Dr Stya Paul.

Every year, meritorious students are felicitated annually on Founder’s Day with the coveted Dr. Stya Paul Award for Human Values. The award is presented to students who not only imbibe human values but also practice them in their life. For the academic session 2022-23, class 8 student Aabhas Sahu, class 10 student Utkarsh Tiwari, class 9 student D,Sanvi Narula of 9 A and class 11 student Krrish Agarwal were felicitated with a citation and a scholarship.

Similarly, Apeejay School, Saket celebrated Founder’s Day with pride as they honoured the rich contribution of Founder-Chairman Dr Stya Paul through myriad fields for a progressive society.  

The celebrations began with a special prayer in the morning assembly. Floral tributes were paid to the divine soul by Dr. Sujeet Eric Masih, Principal of the school and members from staff and students.

The school choir regaled the audience with a hearty presentation of some of Dr Paul’s favourite bhajans.                                                                                                                                     

The Principal, in his address, shared glimpses of the inspiring and incredible life journey of Dr Stya Paul, highlighting his exemplary attributes and philosophy of creating overall value for all in the society through education.

He also read a special message sent by President Ma’am.  He said, “Dr Stya Paul was always a positive thinker, who faced all of life’s vicissitudes with a smiling countenance, never-say-die attitude and an unflinching faith in the Almighty. Though he was a hard task-master, his punctuality, sense of discipline, dedication and focus made him an ideal role model of excellence for all those who worked with him.” He added, “For him, work was passion, and he hated to miss office even when he was ill. He had a sharp memory for people, was an excellent listener, apart from being a good orator and writer.”

It was followed by an alluring recitation by class 7 student Bhramanshi Sharma. Through her piece she highlighted the importance of good deeds in one’s life. Priyanshi Kumar of class 11 gave a powerful speech about the importance of the school motto ‘ Soaring high is my nature’

The ‘Dr. Stya Paul Award for Human Values’ was also conferred upon the deserving students from the middle, secondary and senior secondary classes of the school. The recipients of this prestigious award were felicitated with a prestigious citation.

At Apeejay School, Pitampura, members paid homage to the Founder-Chairman through a special assembly.  The celebrations commenced with a floral tribute to memory of the iconic Karamyogi by Mrs. Veena Goel, Principal followed by all staff members.  

The students received a glimpse of the multifaceted personality of Dr Stya Paul through a reading of some of his favourite couplets from his book: Reflection in Time. An inspirational dance performance, followed by a soulful rendition of bhajans and a captivating skit on the life of the great visionary made students aware about the towering personality of the Founder-Chairman. Students of Determination House paid heartfelt tribute to Dr Stya Paul through the recitation of some self-composed poems and speeches eulogizing his legacy of nation building through man-making.

The programme concluded on a joyous note as the Principal ignited the young minds with some words of wisdom and felicitated the meritorious students with the coveted Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values.
