Session sensitises students about substance abuse, peer pressure and healthy choices
Students of Apeejay School, Saket participated in a CBSE awareness session on Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat. The session was aimed at sensitising young learners about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of making healthy and responsible choices.
The awareness session focused on issues that can significantly affect young people, including substance abuse and peer pressure. Students were encouraged to understand the risks associated with addictive substances and the importance of staying away from habits that can adversely affect their physical, emotional and social well-being.
During the session, students also learnt about the importance of making informed choices when faced with peer pressure. The discussion highlighted the role of individual decision-making in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and encouraged students to approach such situations with awareness and responsibility.
Another important aspect of the session was the emphasis on seeking timely support. Students were sensitised to the importance of reaching out for help when facing challenges related to substance use or peer pressure. This reinforced the message that seeking support is an important step towards making healthier choices.
The students participated attentively in the awareness programme and engaged with its central message of choosing a life free from addictive substances. The session sought to strengthen awareness among young people and encourage them to recognise the long-term importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The initiative also connected the message of a drug-free youth with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat placing young people at the centre of building a healthier and more responsible society.
The programme concluded with an emphasis on the message “say no to drugs – Choose a Healthy Future,’’ Through the CBSE awareness session, students of Apeejay School, Saket were encouraged to remain informed, resist negative peer influences and make choices that support their well-being and future aspirations.
