Meet Himanshu Verma, a final-year PGDM student at Apeejay School of Management, Dwarka, specialising in Marketing and Operations. In this candid conversation, he talks about why he chose ASM, how the faculty and placement support shaped his development, and the essential skills every management student must master.

Himanshu, what drew you to pursue a PGDM in Marketing and Operations?

Marketing and Operations are constantly evolving and full of opportunities. Even during the pandemic, marketing roles were still thriving, especially in digital formats. That convinced me that this field is future-proof and wide in scope.

Why did you choose Apeejay School of Management?
Before joining, I watched several student videos and read online reviews. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive — especially about the faculty support and industry focus. That gave me confidence to choose ASM.

How would you describe the learning environment at ASM?
Very encouraging. The faculty is approachable and clear in their teaching. Doubts are resolved quickly, and they always motivate us to build confidence, especially during presentations and seminars.

Were you involved in any student committees or activities?
Yes, I was a part of the placement committee. Though I wasn’t active in sports or cultural activities, I learned a lot through organizing placements and interacting with recruiters.

How did ASM help you secure your internship?
The college provided strong placement support — workshops, mock interviews, GD sessions — all of which prepared me for the actual interview. I got my internship at Umrao Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd. through the campus placement process.

What’s one must-have skill for PGDM students, in your view?
I’d say communication skills — with confidence — are absolutely key. Also, having hands-on knowledge of tools like MS Excel is essential, especially for marketing and operations.
