Apeejay School, Nerul organised a special assembly on the occasion of Children’s Day in which pre-primary students participated in a range of activities along with their parents. Enjoying the celebrations from the comfort of their homes, they participated in interactive games, lemon-spoon race, cooking activities, balloon-bursting competition, singing and dance performances.

The session was led by Teacher-in-charge, Ms. Tanuja Sarkar. Ina PowerPoint presentation, Ms Sarkar taught students the importance of celebrating Children’s Day, along with paying tributes to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. She reiterated how students determine the future of the country, and shared encouraging messages for them at her home wall.

The most delightful sight at the event was the ‘balancing the books’ task given to students as they tried to reach the finish line by carrying several books on their heads. The students were delighted to try and do their best efforts at it, irrespective of winning and losing.

The event closed with parents treating their wards with special meals, as they cherished their time at the programme and thanked the school for organising it.

I would like to echo the words of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, – ‘I see the bright future of India in the shining eyes of children.’

-Ms. Namita Gopalan, Vice-Principal, Apeejay School, Nerul
