What does a regular day at work look like?
A typical day for me starts with a morning schedule for setting the day’s objectives. This is usually followed by separate brainstorming sessions for targets, coordination with various stakeholders for project delivery and finally, my day ends with a high spirited team huddle for a days’ job done well.
Any special memories from Apeejay Nerul years?
I’ve got loads of special memories from my school days. My favourite part was always the days with a ‘games’ period. Coming to the subjects, I’ve always found Physics and Mathematics interesting but I loved History too. I particularly enjoyed learning about the life and lifestyle of people in the ancient days and the sharp contrast with our current lives.
How did the teachers in the school mentor you?
My teachers have mentored me in more ways than one. Learning to listen, right behaviour, attitude and temperament have been key in shaping me.
What motivated you to join the banking industry?
During my undergraduation, I felt a pull towards the financial services industry. I got my CFA level 1 certification and later when I got an on campus opportunity, I felt it was a perfect fit for me.
3 must-have skills to be in this field
– Aptitude in Mathematics – Ability to solve complex problems – Quick thinking skills
Finally, an advice for all non medical students?
Explore your options and take an interest in academics. Try to figure out what you’re best at and make a plan for yourself and chalk out your career accordingly. Rest will fall into place.
