Apeejay School, Faridabad (Sector 15) transformed into a vibrant celebration of India’s cultural and historical wealth as it hosted the Inter-House Soft Board Competition. Organised with the aim of fostering awareness and appreciation of the country’s architectural marvels and national pride, the event saw enthusiastic participation from all four school houses.
A celebration of creativity and culture
The theme for the competition, “India’s Landmarks: A Legacy to Cherish,” served as a perfect canvas for students to delve deep into the country’s diverse heritage. Each house put forth beautifully crafted soft boards that featured India’s most iconic sites – from ancient wonders like the Ajanta and Ellora Caves and the Konark Sun Temple to modern achievements like the Statue of Unity and the Lotus Temple.

These visual presentations were not only rich in aesthetic appeal but also rooted in detailed historical and cultural research. Students showcased their understanding of each landmark’s significance through well-written descriptions, creative designs, and thoughtful storytelling.
Judging criteria and results
The competition was evaluated based on four important criteria: relevance to the theme, depth of research, creativity, and overall presentation. The judging panel commended all teams for their originality, teamwork, and the sheer effort put into making the boards both informative and eye-catching.
The final results were as follows:
First Place: Nanak House
Second Place (Tie): Kabir House & Vivekanand House
Third Place: Gautam House
More than just a competition, the event provided a platform for students to engage with their heritage in a hands-on, collaborative manner. It encouraged teamwork, boosted artistic expression, and enhanced students’ research and presentation skills.

Such initiatives reflect the school’s commitment to holistic education – one that nurtures not just academic excellence, but also cultural awareness and creativity. By learning about India’s legacy in such an interactive way, students walked away with a deeper sense of pride and connection to their roots.
The Inter-House Soft Board Competition proved to be a truly enriching and successful event, inspiring young minds to cherish and carry forward the story of India’s timeless landmarks.
