A programme to welcome the esteemed parents associated with Apeejay School, Rama Mandi in Jalandhar, ‘Meet and Greet’ was a grand success. Not only did parents visit the school and meet the educators, but these experts also promised to participate and collaborate in the school’s upcoming events. Further, they volunteered to share their knowledge with all the students.

The event began with a welcome address by Ms. Aarti Walia, an Apeejay teacher. This was followed by a speech by Ms. Sangeeta Nistandra, the school’s Principal. In her address, Ms. Nistandra highlighted the importance of physical and mental well-being amongst students. Further, she advised parents to encourage their children to perform well but refrain from pressuring them. “In my view, every student is a learner. And each learner has his/her own journey. No two journeys can be compared,” she said. “Students must utilise their energy for something creative. To further their endeavours, parents must spend quality time with them.”

The programme was attended by 50 parents and grandparents. To contribute towards the growth of their wards, they signed up to attend and support assemblies, celebrations, sports events, and many more that will be held in the school year-round. In the coming days, parent volunteers will also judge an event based on the Republic Day in sync with the spring season. It will provide them an opportunity to view their children’s progress and journey closely.

“In the words of Jane D Hull, the Former Governor of Arizona, at the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents. Keeping that in mind, Apeejay School, Rama Mandi launched the Parent Volunteer Programme.”
