Dr Pijush Dutta, Associate Professor and Programme Director, Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC), Dwarka, was recently invited as Jury to provide accreditation to the outstanding Indian PR professionals.

Accreditation to Indian PR is an initiative by the Public Relations Consultants Association of India to provide accreditation to outstanding PR professionals. It is currently awarded at two levels depending on applicants’ work experience – Level 1 is for professionals with 1-5 years of experience, and Level 2 is for those with 5-10 years.

The event brought together multi-industry communications and PR professionals to give a communication aptitude test that assessed applicants’ performance on 7 key competency areas and presented case studies solutions to the jury.

Along with Dr Pijush Dutta, the other jury members for the programme were Abhilasha Padhy, Co Founder, 80 dB communication, Neete Bajaj, Group HR Director, Strategic Partners Group, Radhika Mehta, National Director – Operations and Growth, Ruder Finn India and Shivanjali Singh, Head – Corporate Communications, Vodafone Idea Limited.

Dr Dutta holds several contributions to the field of corporate communications. He has been involved in allied initiatives at AIMC including organisation networking, corporate connect, advertising, PR, and so on. He also mentored students for many social awareness campaigns in association with UNICEF, and the Government of Bihar, among others.

A professional with nearly 30 years of academic and industrial experience, Dr Dutta holds a PhD degree from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. In 2020, he was awarded the ‘Best Research Excellence Award 2020’ for his PhD thesis.

“In today’s world, PR is absolutely critical. An exceptional PR story is infinitely more effective than a front-page ad.”
