Celebrated every year on September 5 to recognise the contribution of educators across India, Teachers Day marks the birth anniversary of the first Vice-President and the second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a well-known teacher, philosopher and scholar.

As the power of education has shaped the future of every youth in the country since its Independence, each year students continue to display their gratitude towards their teachers by remembering Dr. Radhakrishnan. At Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, this year’s celebrations began by paying a floral tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan and lighting the ceremonial lamp by school principal, Ms. Sinia Sajith.

The programme witnessed an exhilarating participation from teachers and students and included electrifying performances through which students displayed their love and respect for their teachers. They crafted thoughtful posters, cards and performed dance, poetry at the event to thank their teachers for encouraging them to move forward and dream big.

The event concluded with teachers thanking every student for bringing joy into their lives.

“Teaching is the art of leaving a vestige of oneself for the development of another individual. Every student is the reflection of a teacher’s efforts, empathy, bonding, and is a bank where a teacher deposits precious treasures to watch them grow. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, I thank and salute all teachers, ones who have taught me, the ones who have mentored me and the ones who now work with me at Apeejay.”
