Apeejay is playing the role of a guardian on behalf of working parents: Dr. Happy Sondhi

Dr Happy Sondhi (45) is a general physician and an ultrasonologist at Sondhi Hospital and Scanning Centre in Jalandhar that the family owns. His wife, Dr. Jyotsana Sondhi (45) is a gynaecologist. Both their children, Priyanjali (14) and Priyanshu (12) are studying at Apeejay School, Tanda Road. In an interview, he talks about how the school is shaping a bright future for the kids and grooming them to evolve into better human beings.

What made you choose Apeejay over other schools?
Apeejay is an established brand in Jalandhar. It has a strong reputation and a very good academic performance. Also, the school is very close to our residence so we don’t have to worry much about the transportation. When we visited the school for the admission of our elder daughter Priyanjali, we found the teachers and staff were very cooperative. The ambience was good and we were getting positive vibes about a great atmosphere for learning.

How are your children progressing at the school?
Both Priyanjali and Priyanshu are very well-behaved kids. They are never into mischievous things. Priyanjali is studying in Class VIII and Priyanshu is in Class VI. They are good in academics as well as extra-curricular activities. Priyanjali is always keen to participate in Science and Mathematics Olympiads. Both of them follow the instructions given by the teachers.

What is unique about Apeejay?
My kids love their school. They are happy at Apeejay and it means a lot to us, as a parent. Apeejay has a very good atmosphere and they have eminent staff as faculty. The teachers give individual attention to every student. Also, I loved the approach of the teachers who are always welcoming towards students. The bond between a teacher and student is so strong and comfortable that the kids don’t hesitate in clearing their doubts. The teachers are even ready to help the parents, especially during online classes.

Any personality traits that your kids have developed in school?
Everything they are learning and adapting is because of the school.
Full credit goes to the school for shaping my kids so well that they know the importance of values. They are not only getting an education, but the teachers focus on the overall development of a child. We feel proud that despite being unable to spend sufficient time with them, he lessons they are getting from the school are enough for them.

We are happy that Apeejay is conducting online classes since day one of the lockdown. This ensured that there was no compromise on studies.
