Apeejay Education Chairman Sushma Paul Berlia receives the prestigious Shiromani Award

Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Co-promoter and President, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, has been conferred with the coveted Shiromani Award for her outstanding vision, dedication, and commitment to education. She was awarded at the NRI World Summit 2022, UK.

Apeejay Education was founded in 1967 under the aegis of Dr Stya Paul. Today, it comprises 26 not-for-profit educational institutions including schools and colleges. It is Dr Paul’s legacy of providing holistic education and nation-building that is being carried forward by his daughter and only child Mrs Berlia.

Education, which is fundamental to an individual’s growth and personality, is both the act of teaching knowledge and receiving it from others. Excellence is a spirit, a never-ending process and that is what Apeejay, under the able guidance of Mrs Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Education, continues to strive for. A leading woman entrepreneur and industrialist, she has played a significant role in bringing out educational reform by promoting inclusivity, equal access, skill development, and more. The Shiromani Award was instituted in 1977 and has been bestowed on leading changemakers like Mother Teresa, Raj Kapoor, Sachin Tendulkar, The Dalai Lama, Vishwanathan Anand, and Asha Bhosle, to name a few.
