Apeejay College of Fine Arts, hosts webinar on Dance Movement Therapy

The Department of Psychology of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organised a webinar on the theme of ‘Dance Movement Therapy’ in which Shinu Kochhar, budding psychologist and alumna of the college threw light on ‘Expressive Arts Therapy’.

The speaker elaborated on the dance movement therapy which is one of the most popular expressive art therapies to deal with various mental problems such as stress, anxiety, mild forms of depression and personality disorders. During the session, the speaker demonstrated the process of dance movement therapy in the form of different activities.
The students from psychology department as well as from other departments actively participated in the webinar and learned new forms of therapeutic techniques.
Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal congratulated HOD Monica Sekhon and Dr. Monica Bahri, Department of Psychology, on organising such an informative webinar.

In the present scenario such stress-relieving activities will definitely serve the purpose of hosting such a webinar. Moreover, dance movement therapy can help increase our mental strength to fight with the detrimental effects of Coronavirus.
