An informative workshop on ‘Fundamentals of CNC Machine’

The Department of Interior Design at Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar recently hosted a highly informative workshop titled “Exploring the Fundamentals of CNC Machine” in the college’s carpentry workshop. This enlightening event was specifically designed for students specialising in Interior Design and Product Design, offering them a unique opportunity to delve into the world of CNC machines.

The workshop featured Mr. Ravinder Singh, a seasoned CADCAM engineer with a wealth of expertise in CNC machine applications, served as the key resource person for the event. Mr Singh traveled all the way from Abu Dhabi (UAE) and his presence added a valuable dimension to the workshop, providing students with first-hand knowledge and insights into the subject matter.

The primary objective of the workshop was to familiarise students with the operation of CNC machines and their associated software, all while emphasising the correct utilisation of tools. This practical knowledge is of immense significance in the fields of Interior and Product Design, making the workshop a crucial learning experience for the attendees.

The event witnessed an enthusiastic turnout, with 60 students participating in the workshop. The participants had the unique opportunity to engage with their dedicated instructors, including Ms. Rajni Kumar, Mr. Ramanroop, Ms. Harshita Arora, and workshop assistant Mr. Jaswinder, who provided comprehensive training and guidance throughout the workshop.

The workshop proved to be a resounding success, as students left the event brimming with excitement and newfound knowledge. The insights and skills gained during the workshop are expected to have a significant and positive impact on the students’ academic and professional development, enhancing their abilities in the fields of Interior and Product Design.

Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA stressed the importance of such workshops, underlining ACFA’s commitment to providing students with the necessary platforms for exposure and practical learning. She encouraged the Department of Interior Design to continue their excellent work, fostering an environment where students can hone their skills and ultimately realise their dreams.
