Tell us about your work and what your work day looks like.

I am the type of person who loves to explore and dig deep for answers. At present, I am working as a sub-editor at Storytailors, where my role and responsibilities include, forming and writing daily news for areas like entertainment, business, and technology to name a few. This is what I have always envisioned becoming and I am super grateful for AIMC to have helped me get here.

What was your motivation behind choosing this career path?

I graduated with a degree in Journalism; I have always been involved in writing and expressing myself. Throughout my academic journey, I cultivated a deep interest in journalism and decided to pursue further knowledge and exposure in the field. This led me to choose AIMC as a platform to hone my skills and contribute to the world of writing.

How do you balance your work life?

It was quite tough for me to manage in the initial days. I leave from my office at 6 pm, go home, and rest for a while. I have made a point to not open my laptop as soon as I reach home. I do this to limit my screen time. Lately, I have started reading a book that helps me elevate my vocabulary skills. On weekends I go to watch theatre plays or any movie.

How did the mentors at AIMC hone your skills?

AIMC provided me with a course that was tough to understand to begin with — Digital Media and Online Journalism Slowly, the faculty taught me how to research, write, post headlines, and form a story. All this is helping me right now. The institute gave me a good headstart. The mentors were very helpful and helped me learn every aspect of journalism. AIMC was the right institute; it helped me build my career.

Any fond memories from your college life at AIMC?

The first filmmaking project was extremely memorable. The Synergy festival was also fun. I also received a medal for a performance I staged. The guest lectures in the orientation programme was super great. Over all the experience and exposure have been great with such supportive teachers. Batchmates also helped as they hailed from diverse job experiences. Overall. my time at AIMC was amazing and will be remembered for a long time.

Any specific milestone that you are aiming to achieve?

I wish my writing gains immense popularity wherein it reaches the global level, making a strong impression not for a few, but many.

Any tips to build a successful career in writing?

For this profession, you must develop the art of writing. You must be open about all the views and perspectives. Always know how to respect your perspective. Since research plays a key role here, you must dig deep. If you form an opinion based on your research, you will become confident. Read books to develop your vocabulary.
