AIMETC welcomes new batch of students through a virtual campus tour
Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, conducts Induction Programme – Aarambh 2021

Students commencing their classes at MBA, MCA, BBA, B.Com and B. Tech at Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) in Jalandhar were inducted at the college from September 9 – 11.
The induction ceremony, Aarambh, a 21-day extensive programme across schools such as Management Studies, Information Technology, and Engineering. Modules for first year students began with the lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director at AIMETC. He addressed the students by making them aware of the rules and regulations followed at the institute. In his speech, he encouraged them to be curious and focus on creating and achieving new targets during their college journey.
To motivate the freshers to pursue excellence in their career, he emphasised, “It is what an employee can contribute extra to any company that determines their CTC, and not mere qualification required for the job.” In his address, he further highlighted that leaders are not born but made, citing the heroics of Indian War legend and decorated Field Marshal Sam ManekShaw during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. The session ended with an expert talk on ‘Developing a Business Mindset’ by Dr. Komal Chopra, Associate Professor of Marketing with Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, India. He spoke about creating business ideas by students and thinking out-of-the-box by exemplifying the work of Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, Jack Ma, Co-Founder, Alibaba Group and Jeff Bezos, Founder, Amazon.
On the second day of the programme, students were introduced to the faculty members across departments and were given a virtual tour of the campus by Mr. Daljeet Singh Matharu, Faculty, School of Information Technology. They were further briefed on the student code of conduct at college by Dr. Kulwant Kaur, Dean School of Information Technology. The session ended with an expert talk on ‘MIS using MS Excel’ by Mr. Manoj Chakerwarti, Founder, TechKnowSoft Solutions, wherein students learnt about developing diverse skills while starting a new job.
The third day included an introduction to student-driven clubs by Dr. Rajneesh Arya, Dean School of Management followed by sharing detailed information with students regarding the Department of Student Welfare by Mr. Avnip Deora. At the session, Dr. Rajan Chaudhary, Dean, School of Management discussed University Academic System – IKGPTU Exam pattern & Internal Assessment Process, Research Development & Consultancy Cell, Research Approach, Journal & Publication and the importance of research papers with the students. Dr. Anu Sahi, Editor-AIMETC Journal invigorated them to focus on research and dive deep into the how’s and why’s of every new topic they are taught at college.
This was followed by Dr. Kulwant Kaur, Dean, School of Information Technology, informing students about Content Beyond Syllabus & Experiential Learning (EWL, EEP, Certifications & MSDC) and Dr. Sandeep Ranjan, Dean School of Engineering discussing the institute’s Learning Management System. Delivering the final session, Mr. Kanwal Khehra informed the students about various placements, internships, live-project opportunities in which they can participate at college.
The day concluded with Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, AIMETC congratulating the students for successfully completing the first module of the Induction Programme.
