Mr. Ashish Shukla, parent of Apeejay Noida student Aanya Shukla, says he is really impressed with the efforts the teachers have put in, particularly in the online classes
Mr. Ashish Shukla is Assistant Vice President with Genpact. His daughter Aanya Shukla is a class three student at Apeejay School, Noida. In a brief interview, Mr. Shukla highlights how his daughter looks forward to attending the physical classes starting next week at school. Edited excerpts:
Why did you choose Apeejay Noida ahead of other schools for your child’s admission?
Apeejay Noida is a top-ranked school in Delhi-NCR. It is a great school with a rich legacy of more than four decades in the education industry. The school was near my home when we lived in Noida but now we have recently shifted to Delhi. So, basically these were the reasons behind choosing Apeejay School, Noida for Aanya.
Please tell us a bit about Aanya and take us through her progress at school?
Aanya joined Apeejay Noida in class 1 and has been attending the classes in the online mode since then. Thus she has not been able to interact physically with the other students. She has picked up well academically and likes all the subjects. The art class is her favourite. She also participates actively in the computer and yoga classes. She is interested in extracurricular activities as well. Among her subjects, she likes Math and English a lot. I got feedback from her class teacher that she is not interacting much with the other students in the online mode but I hope this will change once she meets them as the school reopens.
Are the teachers engaging well with the students?
The teachers are very good. They have the requisite experience and treat the students very well. If a student asks a question, they very patiently solve their doubts and explain the concept till it is clear to them.
I would like to mention Ms. Pratibha Verma, her class teacher in class 1. She was a very nice teacher. Prachi Jain, her class teacher in class 2 was also a very good teacher.
What is the best thing about Apeejay School, Noida?
The school is digitally very sound. We don’t see any issues with the teachers in the online mode of teaching. They are all technologically well equipped. I have also not seen any issues such as class delay in the past two years. The teachers are very punctual.
How has the experience of the online classes been for Aanya?
It has been very good. She attends all the classes independently. She actively responds when the teacher asks her a question but is a bit laid back in social interaction. However, she is able to understand all the concepts clearly.
Now that the schools are reopening for physical classes, is Aanya excited to return to the classroom?
Yes, she is very excited to go back to school. She has already visited the school to collect her books and uniform. She is eagerly looking forward to attending the physical classes.
