Grandparents provide a vital connection for the younger generation to stay connected to their family history and heritage. On the occasion of World Senior Citizens Day, August 21, Apeejay School, Model Town in Jalandhar invited grandparents of students in Class 1 and 2 to honour their contribution towards the growth of their grandchildren.

Welcoming the guests, Principal Ms. Sinia Sajith said, “Senior citizens are important for our social structure as they provide a stable, safe, and loving environment for children. They help solidify an important family relationship, thus giving the society balance and stability.”

The school hosted exciting performances by students, giving them an opportunity to express their love towards their grandparents. As the day’s events included fun and games, grandparents set the tempo by shaking a leg with their grandchildren on impromptu songs and dance numbers.

The school witnessed an overwhelming response, endeavoring to make it a memorable day for students and grandparents. The event further helped raise awareness about the mental and emotional requirements of senior citizens, highlighting how the younger generation can help them feel special with small gestures. The school Headmistress, Ms. Namrata Sharma concluded the event by expressing heartfelt gratitude towards the guests.
