Healthy habits took centre stage at Apeejay School, Noida, as the learners of Class I-D presented a morning assembly on the theme Healthy Food Healthy Me. Through thought, poetry, and dance, the young students explained how everyday food choices affect the body, mind, and ability to learn.

The assembly opened with the ‘thought of the day’, we are what we eat. The line set the direction for the presentation and encouraged students to think about the food they choose each day.

The learners explained that nutritious food supports a strong body and a sharp mind. The message was simple and clear, making it easy for young children to understand.

Learning through poetry

The students then recited an English poem on the value of fruits, vegetables, milk, and water. The poem focused on foods that help children grow, remain active, and concentrate better during lessons.

They also spoke about eating a rainbow of foods. This presented healthy eating as something colourful and varied. The learners reminded everyone that too much junk food can affect health and that balanced choices matter.

A lively message through dance

The highlight of the assembly was a dance performance on the song Eat Healthy, Be Healthy. The children performed with energy and confidence, using colourful props and coordinated movements to hold the attention of the audience.

The performance carried practical messages as well. It encouraged balanced meals, washing hands before eating, regular play, and good nutrition.

Building awareness early

The assembly brought together learning and performance in a way suited to young students. It indicated that lessons on health do not always need to remain limited to the classroom.

The assembly closed on a clear note: Eating well, staying active, and following basic hygiene can support a healthier and more focused life.
