Rajeswari Kala Utsav was celebrated at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, with full fervour and spirit

Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, glowed with vibrant hues of tradition, talent, and tribute as it celebrated the Rajeshwari Kala Utsav, marking the 101st Birth Anniversary of Smt Rajeshwari Paul, the revered wife of Dr Stya Paul and the ‘First Lady’ of Apeejay Stya & Svran Group recently. The day-long celebration stood as a powerful reflection of the school’s commitment to holistic education, cultural pride, and value-based learning.

The formal inauguration of the utsav began on an auspicious note with the lighting of the ceremonial diya, a symbol of knowledge and enlightenment. This was followed by a solemn floral tribute to Smt Rajeshwari Paul, whose visionary ideals and unwavering commitment to art, education, and empowerment continue to inspire generations of Apeejayites.

A deeply emotional and inspiring moment was created when the School Vice-principal, Ms Aarti Shorey Bhat read a special message from Mrs Sushma Paul BerliaChairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education. In her heartfelt words, Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia fondly recalled her mother’s extraordinary journey and lasting contributions to the realms of education, art, and women’s empowerment. The message echoed with admiration, reverence, and gratitude, reminding all present of the powerful legacy carried forward by the institution.

The atmosphere turned spiritual as the school choir rendered soulful bhajans, invoking a sense of inner peace and devotion. The melodies set a serene tone, preparing the audience for a day immersed in creativity and cultural expression.

A powerful speech by Class X student Nikita added depth to the celebration, as she paid tribute to Smt Rajeshwari Paul’s enduring vision. She highlighted the importance of integrating cultural values within education and praised the collective effort of the school community in keeping that spirit alive through the Utsav.

The highlight of the day was a mesmerising classical dance performance, rich in expression and elegance, celebrating the spiritual depth of Indian dance traditions. It beautifully illustrated the discipline and grace that define Indian heritage.

An innovative feature of the event was live sketching, conducted simultaneously with the performances, artistically capturing moments of the celebration in real-time, adding a creative and interactive dimension to the utsav.

The cultural mosaic continued to flourish with solo performances by Riddhi Khattar, Jannat Jain, Talin Narula, and Viren Singh. Their vocal and instrumental talents showcased the remarkable artistic promise nurtured at Apeejay School. This crescendoed into a vibrant group dance performance by Nishtha and Ivneera, whose synchronised grace and energy drew enthusiastic applause from the audience.

To add a sweet ending to the day, sweets were distributed, fostering a spirit of joy, community, and shared celebration.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms Amarjot Kaur, who acknowledged the contributions of every student, teacher, and staff member whose dedication made the event a grand success.

The Rajeshwari Kala Utsav was not just a cultural programme; it was a soulful homage to a visionary legacy, celebrating creativity, values, and community in the luminous memory of Smt Rajeshwari Paul.
