Apeejay International School, Greater Noida students visit Himachal Pradesh for a four-day excursion trip

Celebrated professor Stephanie Smith Budhai once said, “Field trips provide authentic, hands-on experiential learning opportunities where students can connect what they are learning in the classroom, in a real-world context.” This philosophy is absolutely congruent with Apeejay Education Society’s vision of providing holistic education to its students.

In sync with this vision, Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, organised an excursion trip to Himachal Pradesh for its students. A total of 40 students from classes 9 to 12, accompanied by four teachers visited the hill stations of Chail, Kufri, and Shimla in the majestic Himachal Pradesh.

Chail’s beautiful weather helped the students unwind and experience a sense of tranquility in the mountains. The students participated in a host of adventurous activities on the first day of the trip. The mutual cooperation required for the activities made the students recognise the value of team-building activities.

The following day, students travelled to Shimla where they visited the beautiful ridge and explored the adjoining Lakkar Bazaar. The evening was spent in Kufri where the students had a brilliant time exploring a variety of flora and fauna in the Himalayan Wildlife Zoo.

On the third day, students went on a trek to a nearby Shiv temple in the village and explored the hill area. The 3-km trek was a huge hit with the students as it helped them to experience the real Himachal Pradesh  in the heavenly aroma of thick pine forests and orchards.

The accompanying teachers were vigilant throughout the excursion trip and always ensured the safety of the students at every step. The students created memories to cherish for a lifetime and came back with a piece of Himachal Pradesh in their hearts.
