On June 21, 2025, Apeejay Svran Global School, Sector 21-D, Faridabad, welcomed the day with a calm and energising celebration of International Yoga Day. The event witnessed wholehearted participation from both students and teachers, who came together for a refreshing morning yoga session.
The session was carefully designed to cater to all age groups and levels. It began with sukshma vyayam — gentle joint and muscle movements that enhance micro-circulation and prepare the body for deeper practice. The session was followed by a set of warm-up exercises, helping participants ease into the flow.
Once everyone was warmed up, the yoga asanas commenced. These postures focused on building stability and physical strength. The teachers led the students through each movement, emphasising form, balance, and breathing. The mood was serene, and the enthusiasm in the air was evident.

Breath, focus, and inner calm
After the physical practice, the session moved into the subtle yet powerful realm of pranayam — breathing techniques that cleanse the mind and body. Guided breathing helped participants connect with their inner selves. This segment was followed by dhyan (meditation), which instilled a sense of stillness and peace in the hearts of everyone present.
The event concluded with the chanting of the shanti mantra, bringing the community together in a spirit of unity and calm. The mantra echoed in the school premises, leaving a lingering sense of tranquillity and togetherness.

Participants left the session feeling refreshed, focused, and inspired to embrace a healthier lifestyle. The celebration not only highlighted the importance of yoga in modern-day living but also reinforced the school’s commitment to holistic education.
By making yoga a part of their routine, students and educators alike took a step toward a more balanced and mindful life.
