Storytelling, an ancient art form, finds new life at Apeejay School, Noida, where young minds of class IV embarked on a delightful journey of narrative exploration. The English storytelling competition, themed ‘Superheroes in Wonderland,’ not only added a splash of joy to their academic routine but also unveiled the vibrant tales woven by these budding storytellers.

To infuse a dose of creativity into their regular schedule, the school orchestrated an English storytelling competition for its enthusiastic students. The theme set the stage for an imaginative spree as students dived into the realms of fantasy with zeal and vigour.

Dressed in a kaleidoscope of colourful costumes, the young storytellers brought their narratives to life, using props that added a touch of theatrics to their performances. Their tales, ranging from adventures to moral lessons, captivated the audience, showcasing not just their storytelling prowess but also their creativity and expression.

Judged on parameters like pronunciation, voice modulation, expressions, content, confidence, and effective use of props, the students faced the task with unwavering enthusiasm. The Primary Incharge, Ms Smriti Samuel, showered the young talents with words of encouragement, emphasising the significance of storytelling as a key skill that shapes communication abilities for the future.

“Look around you, and you will be amazed to see that stories abound everywhere. Developing your storytelling abilities is essential for honing your communication skills; they will come in handy in the future. I am delighted to see such great participation from all students. My appreciation to each and every child,” remarked Ms Samuel.

The judging panel, consisting of Ms Joya Abraham, Principal of Peach Blossom School, and Ms Anjum Kapoor, lauded the students for their commendable efforts, applauding their passion for showcasing talent. In a stellar display of Storytelling Finesse, Angadjot from class IV-D secured the first prize, while the second prize was claimed by Samriddhi Jain from class IV-B, and Atishi Bansal from class IV-C earned the third spot.

Recognising excellence at the class level, Manit Kapoor emerged as the best storyteller in class IV-A, Paridhi Singh shone in class IV-B, Ashni Saklani stood out in class IV-C, Gunav Gupta stole the spotlight in class IV-D, and Medha Narang of class IV-E earned the title of the Best Storyteller.

The storytelling fiesta at Apeejay Noida not only celebrated the creative spirit of these young minds but also paved the way for future storytellers who hold the magic of wonderlands within their words.
