Recently, Apeejay School, Model Town, turned into a vibrant hub of culture, rhythm, and expression as students of Classes III to VI came together for the much-awaited Inter-house Dance Competition. The auditorium echoed with applause and cheers as young dancers showcased a brilliant medley of semi-classical and folk performances, each one more captivating than the last.
The event kicked off with semi-classical performances where students performed intricate Kathak routines. Every mudra, gesture, and footwork was a testament to the students’ hard work and deep respect for Indian classical arts. The poise and expressions left the audience truly spellbound.

Equally enthralling were the folk dance performances. Bursting with colour and high energy, the students brought alive the festive spirit of India. The joyous beats of bhangra, the graceful twirls of garba, and other traditional styles transported everyone to a world of celebration and unity. It was a brilliant mix of rhythm, regional culture, and youthful enthusiasm.
Nurturing expression and team spirit
This event was more than just a competition — it was a platform for young dancers to express themselves artistically while learning the values of teamwork, discipline, and cultural appreciation. The competition also encouraged house spirit, as students performed in groups and cheered for their fellow housemates with full enthusiasm.

The judges were thoroughly impressed with the participants’ confidence, coordination, and vibrant costumes. Their remarks reflected how each performance contributed to making the event a visual treat.
The competition saw commendable performances from all participants. The winners of the Semi-Classical category were: Bhruvee (first), Ragya (second), and Lovroop Kaur (third). A consolation prize was given to Hazel. In the Folk Dance category, the honours went to: Abhav Kalra and Manraaj (first), Vanshi (second), and Jasmaira and Reet (third). A consolation prize went to Saesha.

Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel praised the students for their spirited performances and dedication. He congratulated all the participants for making the event a resounding success. His encouraging words motivated the students to continue exploring their artistic potential.
