A day of national pride! A day to honour the true heroes, who in the truest sense of the phrase, give their all to serve the nation. The Armed Forces Flag day!
Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park has always valued the contribution of our jawans. In a moving tribute, students of class 11 presented an assembly on the theme of the ‘Armed forces flag day’ celebrated annually on December 7.
Sanya Singh, a student of class 11-C, compared the assembly with a brief introduction on the significance of the day. She re-introduced all to the courage, sacrifice and selfless devotion our soldiers have for the nation.
Tanishtha Jain of class 11-C presented the thought for the day. It was followed by Saswati, a student of class 11-B reciting a beautiful poem about our valiant heroes. Another student Mannat read out the news highlights, while Varsha briefed the audience about the history and significance of the Armed Forces Flag Day.

On this occasion, a campaign to encourage donations towards the armed forces was launched by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. The Delhi government has put in place an institutionalised mechanism to address the needs of the brave. Such initiatives are an expression of the nation’s solidarity with the armed forces.
NCC officer Mr Chandra Shekhar explained the concept of the armed forces day. Speaking about the day he said, “The Armed Forces flag day is celebrated to raise funds. It is collected by the government of each state. These funds are used for the rehabilitation of the soldiers or for the family welfare of the shaheed jawans. We collect funds and send it to the Rajya Sainik board.” He also added, “I am happy that Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park students and teachers donated happily and with great patriotic fervour for this great cause. We collected Rs 30,000 from the school. It will all go to the right cause.”
The assembly concluded with ‘Saare jahan se acha hindustan humara’ and the National Anthem being sung with great patriotism and fervour.

“I feel elated to share that our school has celebrated Armed Forces Flag Day 2022 as a tribute, to pay respect to the efforts of our soldiers in safeguarding the country’s honor. Many soldiers have laid down their lives in the service of the country and now it’s our duty as noble citizens to do something for them by collecting funds from the people for the welfare of the Armed Forces personnel.”
